I have a 21" Apex model At2704S chassis NO. CH-10C June 2003
The kids messed with the universal remote and a pink upside down key appeared in the bottom left corner of the tv during a show last night.
I got up this morning and it was a blue screen and only the key on the tv in the same bottom left corner. No sound or picture on anything I tried.
I tried it with and without my direct tv converter and could get no picture at all.
After I got home from work the kids messed with it some more and now the set wont turn on at all. I plug it in and you hear it fire but no picture.
Is there a reset button inside, or is the tube burned out?
Thanks for the help.

They've turned a child, parental or some other "lock" ON. The user manual will most likely have the procedure to "unlock."
You may be able to view or download a copy online, as no doubt you've "misplaced" your copy that came with TV (or obtained the TV second hand).

You also may want to put reading glasses on and look at the model number again, even more challenging to find any info on this set when you report it incorrectly. Rolling Eyes

Thanks for the help, and you are correct, the 5 is suppose to be a S at the end of the model #. Age and poor lighting are a bad combination.

Thanks for the manual, but at the moment I cant get the set to light up to enter any codes to reverse anything the kids may have entered.
I believe I may just look for a replacement on swaptime.
Your help has not gone unnoticed.
Thanks again..........

If the power indicator is lit when you turn the set on it may indeed may be on, but simply not lit. After turning the set on, press the menu button on the remote (the tv remote, not the cable remote) and see if the menu comes up as this bypasses the brightness controls.
