If no standby light is present and fuse is not blown, check D633 for short. Located on the board for secondary voltages and audio.

is there a likely cause for this shorted diode or will replacement be all that's necessary for the fix? I get 0.1 ohms resistance between anode side of diode connection and ground.

kb9ekh Only mentions the diode.

You're measuring the SMPS transformer winding Exclamation

Pull (at least) one lead of the diode out of the circuit. Use the "Diode test" function of your DVM and test across it with Red lead on marked (line/cathode) and Black lead on other. Then test across it with Black lead on marked (line/cathode) and Red lead on other. You should get "Infinity"
/ "Over Range" one way and "some" reading the other way.
