Hi,
I added some photos. I put ovals around the issues. I hope this helps.I hope this helps. Thanks.
I hope some can help me. I have a 6 year old Hitachi 53SBX59B Rear
Projection TV. Recently, I noticed that the blacks are sometimes blurred.
The hair and faces on images seem to smear. The severity seems to very from channel to channel and time to time. I tired a DVD to eliminate a
issue with the cable company. The issue was less sever but still present.
Also, I have rolling horizontal line that look horrible when the picture is
light.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.[img][/img]

Sorry,
Here's the long and short of it.
Unless you can show a picture of this problem for all to see it is going to be ignored.
Reason: Complaint is too vague and subject to interpretation.
Another Reason: Obvious conclusion is that this set is being compared with current technology. THIS CANNOT BE DONE
Rolling Horizontal line sounds like a possible 60 Hz hum bar. Check your AC plug for a possible modification that allows you to plug the set in with the wrong polarity.( maybe someone has cut off the projections on one leg of the plug that forces you to plug your set in properly)
No offense intended

As to the horizontal bar - Is it a solid dark shaded bar that rolls thru the picture at a 60 htz rate or is it a bar that is made up of static that is drifting thru the pix?
If it is a Static bar, you have a power line transformer problem (on your street) and would have to deal with the power company. (RF type of interference.) Almost always shows up on the Low band Analog RF input. (Channels 2~6)
You need to hook up your DVD using an input other then the RF input. Preferably Component, if your DVD is capable, or Composite if it is not.
If the problem persists in all inputs you may have to readjust the screens. This model does not lend itself to an easy adjustment in this area. Can be CRT's that are beginning to fade and are smearing under High Beam Current conditions.
Hope this helps
