New to this forum, need some help.
I have a rear projection hitachi tv (model#57f510). I was using the one hdmi input for my desktop computer. Everything was working fine, but I got hit with an electrical surge last week. Now my hdmi input will not work at all. I have tried using my blueray in the input, but I get nothing but black screen. This has led me to believe that the hdmi input is fried. My two component inputs still work just fine. So I have two questions.
Is it possible to get a replacement hdmi input and install it myself in my tv. If this is possible, where can I get an hdmi input?
Second, if there is no easy fix for the hdmi, I am trying to get my vga to component cable to work. I have tried different resolutions, but it just will not come out clear. Higher resolutions have lines all throughout the screen, and the lower resolution have the picture split in half. Does anyone know a resolution, frequency, and refresh rate that will work on my tv. Thanks for any help you guys can give.
