Hitachi LE55A6R9 LCD TV with dead backlight. Powers on, switches inputs/sources, and there is an image on the screen if I shine a flashlight onto it. But the LCD backlight is dead, all black.
I have a digital multimeter, and a soldering iron, and know how to desolder / solder in basic electronic components. But I have no clue which components are responsible for this failure.
So, what I'm looking for:
1.) Anyone who's familiar with this particular TV, or at least the general principle, who can tell me if there's a specific component (capacitor, resistor, etc) that can be replaced.
OR
2.) There are 3 main circuit boards inside, and a couple of small auxillary boards. Which one(s) should be replaced? I've found some replacement board kits on eBay, but I don't know which of the 5 or 6 boards should be replaced.
OR
3.) A source for new / new-old-stock / aftermarket replacement parts for Hitachi LCD TV's, along with the confirmation of which board(s) should be replaced.
Or maybe it's a faulty cable? I just don't know. Looking for any helpful information. |
