I want to hook three or four led's to 120 volt ac line do they all get hooked parallel with a separate resistor and one diode, seems like if you would hook them in series then if one burned out they all would go out?
Also seems like from what I have seen that the higher the voltage the more current they draw if this is true do they give more light also?

Typical LEDs take a 3-4 Volt DC source. You can find LEDs that take different voltages, but they still require DC. You'll need to rectify that AC with a diode and figure out a way to reduce the voltage to match whatever LEDs you get.
