Ok, here is something strange-to me at least. When I connect the convergence board to the main board, the TV doesn't give any picture, starts making a ticking sound and then shuts off. However, while it is off, the power light keeps blinking. The TV has picture-tho it is messed up-double, mixed color etc. with the convergence board completely off.
Does that mean my board is completely shut, or is all I need is new IC chips? Help????

ICs would be the "cheaper" option to try. |

My nephew already changed one of them. After reading some of the posts here, I realize that I should have done both. However, The effect that the board has on the power issue is making me wonder if the board or some of the resistors are shut. Any idea how to test them??? |

change all of them at once. Check the resistors around those chips with an ohm-meter. If they are bad, they will measure significantly different than the ones that look just like them. |
