It's an LED LCD TV, Brand: LG, Model: 42LV5500.
When it's plugged in and turned on, the power indicator LED in the corner turns on from red to white, and stays on white, but nothing appears on the screen. It also still gives that audible 'click' whenever power is turned on or off. When it first gave the issue it was connected to the cable box, and there was no sound either when turned on while the cable box was on, so it looks like both the video and audio are not working.
I tried turning it on in the dark to see if the back-light lights were on, but didn't see anything. Don't know if that meant the back-lights weren't working, or if this TV has a closed design which prevents that from being seen (I have the TV open and there looks like another panel inside). Not seeing anything if it's on and a light is held up to the screen.
After opening it and doing some research, there are 3 boards inside it and it's one of them that may be the problem: The Power Board, The Main Board, and the T-Con board. I'm trying to figure out which board it most likely is before I purchase a replacement, so I don't end up with the wrong one. I've found general info but nothing model specific, and some point to the power board, some to the T-Con board, some to the main board. The capacitors on the power board do not appear to be blown.
Can anyone offer any input?
Thanks a lot. |
