|
|
I am preparing to disassemble my LG 47LN5700 in order to replace bad LED strips. I have already concluded that it's the LED's and not the power supply. I have a complete set of strips and will replace all instead of individual LEDs. I have not disassembled an LG before, but have watched the instructional videos on YouTube (several of them). So, knowing that this disassembly is a DELICATE operation, I would like some suggestions or hints on common mistakes or pitfalls in the disassembly of an LG that could render my TV useless. The actual replacement of the LED strips I am not worried about --it's the disassembly and re-assembly that scares me! Perhaps those of you who have been there can give advice. |

Gloves. Helper?
Don't force. Keep dust / static to a minimum.
Clean area to store removed items in the proper order / orientation.
Clean, soft, appropriately sized cart or table top where TFT can be set with tabs hanging over edge(s). Cart or table can then be put off to side where tabs can't be accidentally brushed against and torn.
Note tapes used to secure different ribbons, screens or tabs as they're removed.
TFT is glass and has the easily damaged bonded tabs.
Assembly is sometimes more nerve-wracking then disassembly, but it really is just what you did but in reverse. |
