Hello,

I have a 55LB6300 that is currently displaying a white screen with a message that slowly floats across the screen and says:

POWER ONLY (05.05.25.01)
[How to turn off] Press Exit key and turn
power off with a remote control.

While I was trying to get my newly purchased Roku's remote to control my tv, I think that I inadvertently gave the incorrect code for my lg tv to the Roku remote. Then when I hit one of the buttons (not sure which one) on the Roku remote it sent my tv into this mode. I think that this is what happened, but it is hard to say if I am correct.

This tv has a "magic remote". I have tried to press the exit and power like the message suggests, but this does not work.

I have also tried unplugging the tv and holding down the power button on the tv for 30 seconds. This might be the way to hard reset? Didn't work either.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Brian

Hello JTS1957,

Thank you for that web page, I had not come across that one. However I was not able to access the service menu with that procedure.

Thanks,

You are pressing 'OK' or 'Menu' on both the TV & Remote simultaneously for a few seconds?

Correct, I am pressing the OK or Menu button on both for a few seconds.

Update: I hauled the tv over to the repair shop. The technician was able to easily get the tv out of service mode with the service remote. I brought the roku remote with me to test to make sure that it would not put the tv back into service mode when I attempted to use it again when I got home. As I suspected the roku remote immediately put the tv back into service mode at the shop. After the tech fixed it for a second time, I hit a reset button on the roku remote and it did not do it a second time.

So I thought I was good.

Brought the tv back to the house. Went back to setting up the roku.... You can probably guess what happened next. When I hit the power button on the roku remote - back into service mode.

Called roku and they are sending me a new stick, and thanked me for helping to debug their new product Laughing

I still have not found a way to bring the tv out of service mode by myself here at home. I am currently downloading every remote app available onto my smartphone in hopes that I can find something that will work. The tech seemed to think that if I had a regular LG remote instead of the "magic remote" i could do it.

I am about one day away from tossing this tv into the street.

Thanks,
Brian
