Hello TV Repair Forum! It's a September 2006 model 50" inch. The problem is that the screen shows Big Black and White lines on the top of half of the screen and some pinkish lines on the right side of the top half. Also the TV will turn off if I try to Change inputs too many times. But it will stay on and you can see picture if I don't change channels/inputs. So i'm guessing here but I think it may be the top buffer boards at the very top of the TV in the back. Can you guys help? Thanks!

So here are 2 pictures of the TV I took -

EDIT 1: I took the back off 2 days ago to take a look at everything and things seem to be in decent order. There is also just a slight buzz noise coming from the power supply.

A few more pictures i took: -

Do you get a menu display and if so is it only on bottom half of tv screen. Also is the display menu clear or distorted. I take it that you still have sound?
Disconnect the upper y-sus buffer board and just tape it over the edge and then plug in, turn on tv, with cable hooked up.You should get good picture on bottom half.

I dunno, I get no menu of any kind when i press the menu button on the TV. No TV menu at all. Tho i can see what channel it's on and the input display like HDMI 1 AV1 AV2 and ect are behind the distortion. Mabe the menu is on the upper half when it's messed up?

yea iv taken the upper buffer board that controls the top half of the screen off and it's all black there now. The bottom half of the TV is fine. So maybe if i replace the top half buffer board it could fix it?
