I presume you are using RF input/Tuner. How about other A/V inputs
PIP ? |

The symptom of your picture you sent is called "piecrusting" from the old days and used to be very common. Not so much now.
Check C2C52, 10 UFD @ 50 V, off of the base of Q2C51 on the signal pcb. Also check C2P05, 100 UFD 16 V, off pin 3 of IC2P01 (9-Volt Regulator) on the signal pcb assy.
Hope this helps

True "piecrusting" would be much more regular in appearance. Similar to the corrugations in metal roofing.
Jesse's right in that it WILL be due to a bad electrolytic capacitor - bad filtering, in either signal or a power source. |

JTS1957, I only have cable TV coming from wall so I hooked up a DVD player to A/Vs and had the same picture distortion problem then I tried the component hook up on the TV and I got a ““perfect pictureâ€â€ looks like am going to take the back cover off the TV tomorrow unless there’s something else I could try tonight?
Maybe temporarily hooking up a VCR from my closet to the component to use the TV turner on it until I check on what Jesse Mack suggested or the solution is found
Guys, Thank you for your help |

Hooking up a VCR to the component input on the back of the TV
to use as the TV turner cannot be done; I don’t think they make a splitter for that? |

By the looks of it someone had their hands on the Signal board, for what I can tell so far they replaced C2P02, C2P03, C2P04, C2P05 and IC2PO1. I guess they could not solder C2P04 from the top so they did from the bottom I also noticed a lot of dark Flux in around fifteen to twenty places and most of them the solder is shiny, am assuming that it is led free.
Still looking for C2C52 by Q2C51, I guess it's on the other board?. |

I’m having trouble finding C2C52, 10 UFD @ 50 V, off of the base of Q2C51. Any suggestions
Thanks |

I was told C2C52, 10 UFD @ 50 V and Q2C51 are under that shield on the picture above close to the bottom… “Let the testing begin† |
