Four years old. Approved repair shop had to send chassis to Mitsubishi as they said no parts were available to them. Took 9 weeks to return. Used 4 weeks and same problem again! Timer light blinks rapidly and when reset is pushed it goes out for 2 seconds and blinks again! TV will not start. Unplugged for 1 day and same problem.
I am not a repairman, but just want some good info on what is going on here! We paid $4500 and the set only gets used 10 hours a week. This is the third time it had to go to the shop. The first time was a different problem.
Any advise would be appreciated, except put it out to the curb! Thanks. |

mitsubishi and the repair shop you used should warranty their work. I think your first phone call should be to the repair shop. |

CTL-52V26
Symptoms: Timer LED Does Not Stop Blinking
Causes: Cause #1
1. (LED does not stop blinking after plug in) Disconnect the USB connector from the card reader to the front from the Chassis, if the LED stops blinking after 70 seconds replace the Card Reader part # 299P271010.
2. (LED does not stop blinking after plug in) Disconnecting the USB connector from the Card Reader did not help. Remove connector FC from the FMT PCB and plug the unit in, if the LED stops blinking after 70 seconds with FC removed suspect a problem on the FMT PCB (part # 930B924002), if the LED keeps blinking with connector FC removed suspect a problem on the DM PCB (part # 934C116002).
3. (LED does not stop blinking after plug in) On the DM PCB (part # 934C116002) check C81A2, C81A3, C81B3 and C81B4 (1000 UFD, 16V, 105C), If any are bad, replace all of them with part # 181P734030 (680 uFD, 16V, 105C).
4. (LED does not stop blinking after plug in) On the FMT PCB (part # 930B924002) check C8F19, C8F21, C8F22, and C8F27 part # 181P182030 (16V 1000 UFD 105C), If any are bad, replace all of them with part # 181P734030 (680 uFD, 16V, 105C).
The Bold item (#3) is the most likely.
Please be advised: Unless you are comfortable taking this kind of equipment apart, self servicing is not recommended. If you damage any of the boards attempting to disassemble, be advised that they are very expensive.
This is a good set that simply has some bad capacitors.
Hope this helps

The repair shop has been great! I fortunately took out extended warranty coverage on this TV, so I haven't paid anything yet. The shop also warrants their work for 90 days, but they are upset because Misubishi made the last repair and it failed again and he won't get a penny for the rework, etc.
My concern is that the extended warranty runs out in 7 months and this set seems to be a lemon and I expect I'll be paying for my own repairs
later on.
Jessie, thanks for the specific info on repair, but I won't attempt that. Do you think the repair shop knows what you conveyed to me, and if not, will
they be highly insulted if I give them your directions? |

If the shop you took your set to is a Warranty Authorized repair service for Mitsubishi they will have all of the information at their fingertips that I do. If they are not Warranty Authorized for Mitsubishi you could be in for some frustrations.
I suspect that they are and that they have all of the information available. I would strongly advise that you give the shop a chance to honor their previous repairs. If they are a reputable company you will not be disappointed.
If Mitsubishi did the original repairs, I would suspect that this shop would simply send the chassis back to Mitsubishi. A call to Mitsubishi Customer Relations may be in order due to the extend time frame for repair.
Hope this helps.
