Thanks to the Great RiddledTV, I successfully replaced the Convergence Chip. However in my work, I must have goofed something else up.
With the antenna (DTV) input, my TV picture looks great.
With the component and composite video inputs, the display shows only deep red and deep blue colors, but mostly a black picture.
My theory is that I've jostled something loose on the circuit board that supports all of these inputs (the DTV input is on a separate circuit board). So, I've checked all of the connections on this "input" circuit board, but everything seems to be seated down correctly.
Any advice?
Thanks.

First, check for leaks anywhere from those CRTs.
Second, Check all your ground connections and make sure any wiring you re-terminated is well seated. You might try unplugging and replugging all the cables just to be sure. After that, start checking voltage levels. It sounds like an analog signal level issue to me, which would be associated with the small signal board. |
