|
|
So the symptoms are sound works and the screen comes on and goes to light black, no picture.
I took off the cover hoping to see a blown capacitor or something, but everything looks good.
So there are three boards:
Mainboard TNPH0824: possible culprit
Power supply: I think it wouldn't turn on if this was broke?
Inverter board PH-BLC195: possible culprit
Basically I'm just trying to figure out if I should replace the main board or inverter based on my symptoms. Or is it something else??
Would prefer the inverter of course it is much cheaper.
Thanks! |

Any OSD/Menu/Service Menu?
Any Power LED blink code?
As long as the P board has its 5 voltages, it can probably be ruled out.
If backlights are still lit even while: "the screen comes on and goes to light black, no picture" - then Inverter is NOT involved. |

Thanks for the reply
Yes the backlight is on, but no no menu's or anything. So I guess it is not the inverter. Also the front power light is solid red.
Here is a link at my attempt to measure the power supply:

I'm not sure I am doing it right, it reads 0 on the meter, but I would imagine it wouldn't get any power if this was the case? |

You're NOT.
Unnecessary unless you believe the cord to the wall outlet maybe bad. (You would switch meter to measure AC and put the meter leads to pin 1 and pin 2 of plug 1 (P1/AC Input)).
Sound present at all times?
(No Picture with Normal Sound?)
IF SO...
Is picture (with sound when applicable) from all input sources no good?
IF SO...
AT THE SAME TIME press 'Vol -' button on the TV AND press 'Sub Menu' button 3 times on remote controller:
Does test patterns run? |

I am definitely in over my head with the power stuff, trying to figure out where the AC input reference you mentioned is.
The sound is constant and normal. Just has the back-light, no picture |

The Connector you were trying to measure DC on in utub video.
Red test lead on pin 1 and black test lead on pin 2 (or Black test lead on pin 1 and red test lead on pin 2 - It's AC, it doesn't matter) .. Meter on AC .. AC cord plugged into wall outlet.
If it wasn't present your red LED, gray screen and sound would NOT be present.
Do you have sound on other inputs and do test patterns appear? |

Okay I took several readings, all around 120
No test patterns and sound comes through on several inputs |

So I did that and nothing happened, at one point the screen dimmed and when back to just the backlight.
So would it be the LCD according to that chart? |

What does "Oh, so sorry Sad" mean where you're from?
Perhaps: would be clearer? |
