I have a 2003 Panasonic model#pv-c1323 which was mishandle by TSA and was bounce around in the moving box. anyway when you plug it in the standby light come on, but when you turn it on you hear a click sound and nothing else. i never work on tv before but would like to try to tinkle with it. i work in a remote location, so i have a lot of time to play around but tools might be an issue. i know the basic electronic and how to solder and such but since i am at work those tools are kinda limit. any help or advice is greatly appreciate, thank.

Since you indicate mishandling, using a bright light and or magnifying glass, inspect the circuit board around the IHVT (flyback. the large transformer with a large red wire coming out of its top) for being cracked/broken with cracked/broken foils on the bottom side.
