I'm working on a Pioneer PDP-5016HD. The picture is very "bright". The whites are too white and the screen looks saturated. If you look very closely at the screen you can see horizontal lines that look very similar to retrace lines. These are easiest to see on the lower half of the screen.
If the image in the screen is mostly white it looks as if you can see a crosshatch pattern very lightly in the background. I'm mostly concerned about the brightness and believe the lines will go away once the brightness is back to normal.
I don't know how to access the service menu beyond the regular consumer adjustments but I believe if I could this could be corrected.
