A friend brought me his tv. It is a RCA 27" Model F27649.
He said his wife turned it on one day and that she heard a "pop" and there is no output on the TV. He thought it might be the fuse, which I told him you don't normally hear a fuse blow.
Anyway, when I plugged it in, there was a loud squeal coming from the flyback. So I would suppose that the flyback is bad? Would that be correct to tell him?
There is no display on the screen what so ever |

Good possibility. First is Horizontal Output Transistor good?
If the set is squealing, unsolder the collector of the Horizontal Output Transistor and if it stops, replace the flyback. |
