My RCA 27R410T was working just fine. I left the room for a second and came back to find the screen was completely red. The image gradually returned over the next hour or so- but the red discoloration remained. Any suggestions?

Could be a bad joint on the CRT P.C. Board. Or could be a bad Picture tube.
You MAY want to try this AFTER checking the CRT P.C. Board.

If was a "vivid" red with retrace lines, you could take a plastic handled screwdriver and hit the face of the CRT with it. Keep in mind that the CRT is made of glass and is under a vacuum. If you're breaking the screwdriver (or the tube) you either have a "cheapie" screwdriver or you're tapping too hard.

If tapping the face "causes" the screen to become red or tapping the face "cures" the screen becoming red is unimportant. Either proves that the tube is defective.
