I have an RCA model # P52720BA that looks like the HV splitter went out on. When I remove the front panel and power on the unit I can see the splitter arcing against the metal frame. When I remove the splitter from the frame the unit will power on with sound (static) but the bulbs do not come on at all. There is also a high-pitched whine. I'm assuming this is still due to the HV splitter being shorted out, but wanted to make sure I'm not missing something before I dive in. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. |

Is there any other part I need to be testing in union with this part? Is there a high likelihood that replacing the splitter will make the TV work again (barring anything else being wrong beforehand)? |

Horizontal Output transistor may also fail, but is unusual.
Otherwise: How TV worked before this failure, SHOULD be how the repaired TV works. |

Thanks for the input. I'm ordering the part now from suburban supply. Let everyone know how it works when I get it installed. |
