|
|
Can someone please give me a kick start and tell me in which board is the “STK394-040†located on the RCA #r52wh74,
I also read that this model does not have STK’s!!!!!
I’m having convergence 3D problem also bowing on top and bottom. But I also have the convergence menu in the setup; you can see the crosshair’s move very little
I read many posts and it looks like the “FL231 FIX is for TV’s that lose their convergence menu only, I will also look into that to just in case
Thanks in advance. |

Check solder connections on the following pins of the flyback: pin #12, #11, #10 #9, #5, #4, and #3.
Pin #12 & #11 pins were completely separated from the circuit. Found that the pico fuse, FL231, 400 ma, 125 volt, was open. RCA part # for FL231 is 259213. This fuse when open removes the + 40 volt B+ source to convergence circuit. |

If you'll post a picture, I will show you the location of the STKs |

I got these pics from the web.
I'm missing pics from the boards under the CRTs, Don't know their name yet.

This set chassis is ITC222
This set does not use STK's. The third picture from the top is the convergence amp board and has had few failures. The most common failures are on convergence power supply and are:
RP610 220K no voltage at TP624-E
RP611 - open
FL231 - open
DL231 - leaky
LP650 pin 5 - broken wire

I appreciate the info guys
I pulled out the convergence power supply last night, I did not get very far; looks like my multimeter has its own issues
I was going to buy a soldering station on Harbor freight I guess I’m going to take drive instead to the pawn shops see if I can find a FLUKE at a decent price. |

Progress note:
I purchased a Capacitance Bridge analyzer EICO 950A; it’s like 30 years old and its getting retrofitted by an old timer, I also purchased an older analog Ohms meter.
I’m finding out that some of the capacitors are kind of hard to find like this TL 400V 47uf +85 degree C
Substitute list out there for capacitors? |

I did find that capacitor at mcmelectronics I was typing it wrong. Thank you.
While I wait for the Capacitance Bridge analyzer to be fixed/retro and the more I read I think should have invested in an ESR meter first!!
I have a 16V 470Uf capacitor that’s reading O.L on the capacitance option on my multimeter even After taking it out.
Any recommendations on ESR that can test very small capacitors
I read that the Capwizard is good for small caps but it costs $190 + shipping |
