I have a Samsung HD Projection tv that the red convergence is out of place and constantly moves i tap the IC chips and heat sink and nothen happen but if you go into menu and mess with red convergence some it would fix it self of constantly moves then u can fix it back but it doesnt last long till its messed up and start constantly moves. I have read about these chips always failing cause of high temperature they run at. So my question is does it seem like the IC chip is bad or the heat caused a bad solder joint. |

If it won't adjust into proper convergence with whatever method of adjustment the manufacturer provides, (usually either a one-button "automatic" or multiple button "manual"), then the IC(s) need to be changed (along with confirming b-pluses and checking for changed value bias resistors. |

I agree with JTS. start with the convergence ICs because its easy. check the power supplies for good consistent voltages. |
