I was given this lcd monitor dead. I plugged it in and turned it on. the power light comes on but not even a flicker of light from the back lights. I looked at the power supply and it had 1 bulging capacitor. I replaced that and tested the others with the ESR meter. now I get about 2 seconds of light from the back light. the screen doesn't come to full light for those 2 seconds. my question is how do you test the lights to see if they are at fault? what would I test from here.

Ok I did some searching and tested the output transformer on the inverter board. one of the secondarys is testing open. I ordered part number tms91904ct. I had to get the part from China it was here in 14days. I installed the new transformer and Wow! the monitor is back to life. |
