This one - I need a second opinion on if anyone can verify for me. This set works perfect except - it has a yellow cast to everything - you can see it really well on a blank screen and it actually is move pronounced in the middle up and down - almost looks like a line - but blends outward to the sides. It's there on all inputs including tuner. My thought is the light engine on this one. Any opinions?

I agree that you do have a bad light engine. Sony calls them opticac blocks.

Well, I was pretty sure it was that, because in most of these sets, any
discoloration is caused by the light engine, but this is the first sony lcd
so I wanted to make sure I was still on track.

yellow tint on an LCD projector is most certainly the failure of the blue
LCD panel. Im going to stick with the good old CRT. :)

It would be nice if they made the lcd panels available. They are not that
hard to take out once you get the optical engine out.

Hold up the horses fellas.

Sony has extended the warranty period on this model regarding light engines untill October 31, 2008 regardless of purchase date.

Contact Sony with your Model and Serial number at 1-866-850-8674

Why pay for this when you can get it for FREE!!!!
