This one - I need a second opinion on if anyone can verify for me. This set works perfect except - it has a yellow cast to everything - you can see it really well on a blank screen and it actually is move pronounced in the middle up and down - almost looks like a line - but blends outward to the sides. It's there on all inputs including tuner. My thought is the light engine on this one. Any opinions? |

Optical engine has developed a problem

I agree that you do have a bad light engine. Sony calls them opticac blocks. |

Well, I was pretty sure it was that, because in most of these sets, any
discoloration is caused by the light engine, but this is the first sony lcd
so I wanted to make sure I was still on track. |

yellow tint on an LCD projector is most certainly the failure of the blue
LCD panel. Im going to stick with the good old CRT. :) |

It would be nice if they made the lcd panels available. They are not that
hard to take out once you get the optical engine out. |
