I got this tv and it has an intermittent error of 10 blinks which the service manual says HV shutdown. Manual also said Q8014, and Q8013 shorted, Replace R8051 (fusible link) and check IC8005 for damage. All of those are good. Have checked entire board for cracked solder joints and resoldered flyback leads and transistor leads, but still no HV. I don't have a high voltage meter to check and see if I am getting the KV's from the flyback and don't want to ground it out to see if it sparks. BUT if I let the set sit up unplugged for a couple of days it will come on once. If I turn it off it will not come back on. I have checked all the caps around the HV circuit on the board. But can't pull the boards out and have them connected to be able to get to bottom of the board to check voltages. Anybody ever worked on one of these set's or have any suggestions to on what to check. The whole coming on once in a while has got me stumped.

I think this is one of those models with the pulse width modulator that fails often:
IC8002 part # MCZ3001D

double check that part number, as I'm just recalling that from memory.

Ok cool, let me see if I can check the voltages on that chip. Thank you. According to the service manual that is the chip that shuts the set down on high voltage.
