|
|
Hello,
I have a Sony KV27FS100 that has a horizontal line in the middle of the screen and the top half does not display anything (compressed in the line).
I have read a few posts on various sites indicating that I have a faulty electrolytic capacitor in the vertical deflection circuit. Can someone please point me in the right direction? I have visually inspected all of the capacitors and none of them show any obvious leakage or damage. Could the problem be something else? An IC?
Thanks,
Rick |

If its a capacitor, most likely is C565.
If NOT that try the following "something else" (in no particular order): C561; C564; C539; C537; R536; R537; D530; D531 & IC561 solder Joints/IC. |

Thanks for the info. I will give those parts a try and let you know how it goes.

Hi JTS1957
No go on C565 or the other components. Any idea what else it may be? Should I try to replace the TDA8172?
Thanks,

Presuming the following checks out, replace it.
IC561
Pin # | DC Volts
1) 1.5Volts
2) 12Volts
3) -12Volts
4) -15Volts
5) .3Volts
6) 14.2Volts
7) 1.4Volts
Most important are VCC at Pins 2 & 4. |

Hi JTS1957,
I want to thank you for your help. I got a new TDA8172 in the mail today, replaced it and voila! The Sony is fixed. Thanks again for your guidance and assistance.
