Our set has just semi died. As soon as it is turned on, the screen rotates until you switch to wide on the remote. You are then presented with 2mm wide vertical lines filling the screen. Bizarrely, teletext and the OSD still works absolutely fine, making me think this problem is recoverable.
I immediately thought it would've been the main input board with the scarts and tuner attached, but it does exactly the same with this removed (though I guess it could indicate that that board is dead?).
Seems such a shame to junk it. Thanks in advance. |

Aha! At last a ray of light!!1
Looks like this: http://www.agoraquest.com/viewtopic.php?topic=33400&forum=34
So, Q box? What's the crack with that? What does it look like, is it repairable, or do I need a new one? Would it be a part common with other sets? Ie, could I keep an eye out for a similar smaller set on ebay and remove it from that? |
