This inquiry is for a dear friend who is experiencing audio problems
using the digital output (SPDIF) on his receiver. The audio cuts out and
comes on randomly, not distortion but completely cutting out and then it
comes back on. When the audio cuts out there is an "UNLOCK" messages
displayed. I'm not sure if the same problem occurs when using the analog
audio outputs but I will inquire, in the meantime has anybody seen this
problem before?

David , I've experienced that once , in a home call , I don't remember if it
was a Sony thou .
The optic out was intermittent so I used the coaxial out (the black one)
instead ..... digital audio came back so the customer was happy again.

I'm experiencing another kind of similar trouble , but on a Bose system
(customer paid around 3k $ for this one). customer already changed his multi
cable going to the subwoofer/amplifier .....but was cutting again .
I even soldered the cable directly on the board as per customer directives
(warranty is finished), but still cutting again ,
I suspect a bad jonction into the multilayer board.
anyone had this before ?? and what was the resolution ?
I may think changing the board but ..... Bose is not in Montreal and I donno
with who to check for that.
