Hello,
I have a Sharp CD-BA300 I got from my brother because he was throwing it away. When plugged in it displays "PROTECT" on the display. I did a search and people said it is most likely an audio output IC failure, but I opened it up and noticed the circuit board looked kinda burnt behind a zener diode and a resistor. So, I replaced them; however, the specs of the ones I received differed from the originals. The resistor was a 2.2k ohm 1/6w and I received a 1/4w. The zener diode is a 36v 1w; I know that the original diode was 36v, but the service manual wouldn't specify the wattage so the technician I talked to when I ordered my parts went by length (to try and determine the wattage). The diode I received was almost twice as long as the original one.
My question is: How big of an impact will the new ones have on whether it should work or not?
I have already replaced them and I still get "PROTECT" in the display. I can take pictures, if needed. The service manual is here. |
