Hello,

I have a Toshiba 32A40 TV set, which was working great until recently. Since a month ago, it won't turn on, by which I mean no audio or video, or the display and sound would turn off suddenly while I am watching TV. When I smacked the set on the sides (upper end), it would work normally. It has been going on like this for a while now, and many times it takes several smacks before it comes on. The things I noted are:
1. If I turn the TV on, the power LED comes on, but the audio/video may not be on.
2. When it does not turn on, neither video nor audio work
3. Also, when it does not turn on, if I change the channel using the remote control and then smack the TV, it shows the new channel that I steered the TV to using the remote.
4. The locations on the set that I smack to make it work are, sides of the TV, the back of the TV, especially on and around the board where all the cable connectors are.

Since the TV works when I smack it, I thought it might be the I took the risk of opening the set, but did not see any lose connections.
I would appreciate any suggestions experts on this forum might have.

Thanks
