|
|
Toshiba 37X3030D LCD recently developed a picture fault. The image can now be divided into four equal horizontal zones with differing brightness. Each zone is lighter at the bottom and darker at the top so you get quite an obvious transition where the darker top of one zone ends and the brighter bottom of the next zone begins.
This happens on all the inputs and changing any of the picture setting options does not fix the problem. Any ideas? Thanks |

In no particular order: Tcon board, Panel or Main board. |

Sounds like no easy quick fix. Suspect will be more economical to replace than repair? |

Unless you can narrow it down. If OSD / menu IS affected, that would tend to rule out the Tcon and point towards the panel. |

A couple of other symptoms. It is most obvious when there is a plain white background - this shows multiple additional horizontal and vertical lines along with the 4 main bands. Another odd thing is that when the image is paused for a minute or two, there is a very definite ghost image of the bright areas left behind for several minutes afterwards. |
