|
|
I was watching my 42hp95 the other day when I heard a pop, the screen turned off and I smelled a faint odor of burning electronics. I took a quick look around and the only suspicious looking components I noticed were the two in this picture. Are they the most likely problem? If so, can you tell what resistance the replacements should have? (or that I should be verifying with my multimeter?)
Thank you in advance for any and all help.
Tom

R401 is toast
you'll have to measure with an ohm meter for the 2nd one to find out.
I suspect those are designed to expire because something down-circuit is shorted. R401 is now protecting your TV from starting a fire. |

Sorry for the long delay, but here's a better picture of that resistor. What exactly foes the 55k mean?

.22 ohm resistor.
Don't forget to check the big black transistor-looking thingy to the right. |

IF either end of toasted resistor goes to ANY pin on that device - replace the device. |
