There is a fix for this condition BUT, For 95% of the general population this is not a do-it-yourself repair.
That being said, here is the information.
First: You had better be great at soldering with a needle iron.
Second: If you are not, you can replace the board in its entirety but you will need good soldering skills and be good at disassembly and reassembly.
Problem: Primary symptoms are jagged, digitized or pie crusting of the picture.
The following is for the person with great soldering skills.
Corrective action: Remove the MVUP14 Hyper Module from the TV chassis, remove the top shield and replace the 10uf, 16v capacitors using Part Number 24619040 (Note: These capacitors are low impedance surface mounted aluminum electrolytic capacitors. Care should be taken to avoid damaging the PCB while replacing these capacitors.) There are 10 capacitors.
The following is for the person with good soldering skills.
Replace the Hyper module with part number 23148024. The chassis will have to be removed to remove the hyper module shields.
Parts are available here: http://www.andrewselectronics.com and here: http://www.searspartsdirect.com
Please be aware: If you do this and are even a little bit incompetent it is very likely you will seriously damage your set. (no offence intended)
Hope this helps.
