I took a vacuum cleaner apart and it did not have an incandescent bulb it had a LED and on the board it had stamped 94v could LED's in vacuum cleaned run with this high of voltage? It says made in china on the board. It is marked on the board + and - so you know it is DC.

You didn't say how many LEDs was used.
For an easy explanation take two 12V bulbs you can run them from 24V if you connect them in series or 36V if you connect three in series but they must all be the same rating wattage or current wise.
I don't know the cleaner in question. I would have thought it may have an LED driver circuit, this is a switching regulator because 94V does seem high seeing that LED needs about 3V to work, super bright LEDs can draw as much as 40mA or 0.04A of current.
To run a 3 Volt LED on 94V you would need to have about 31 in series unless you start physically dropping the excess voltage a switching supply would be far more efficient.
If it is a sealed unit... fire the LED up and place a portable AM radio right up close it.... use the lowest frequency possible and you should here the switching regulator should it use one - it will not work on VHF FM
This is how I test remote controls sometimes, with a radio tuned bottom end of Long or Medium waveband.
It certainly would be DC as you pointed out, switching regulators can run from any voltage.

From riddledtv Answers: (cute - why is my electronic mail so slow in being delivered at times?)
What does 94V-0 mean?
I work on many circuit boards and I have noticed that all of them have the writing "94V-0". I was wondering, what exactly is that there for and what does it mean?

A quick web search turned up this:
The plastic package carries Underwriters Laboratory Flammability Classification 94V-0 |

This must be correct as I am now using this LED to light my kitchen at night it seems to give a bright white light not like the ones you get from china which seem to have a blue tint, but they these are more efficient though.
94v probably the most dc voltage rating I do not know for sure just guessing. |
