Can we assume that whatever item you are using as a source in A/V 4 works on one or more of the OTHER A/V inputs?

Or...

That any other item connected to another A/V input which works fine, rolls when connected to A/V 4?

Yes, it is definitely isolated to av4 which is also the only hd input for GBR cables. this set is said to recieve 480 or 1080i only so I am wondering if it is a signal/setting problem or if one of my kids bumped the set and knocked something out of whack. It is like you can see the picture, but it has a roll like on the old sets and you just turned the vertical adjust knob and it righted itself. anyway any suggestions will be appreciated

This set has the "HOP" board in it and AV4 requires separate horizontal and vertical inputs. Look at the back in the AV 4 position you will see two inputs in the same area that are marked H & V. Without this it will not function correctly.

Hope this helps

it does have the h & v inputs. It was working fine for a long time, but developed the "roll" one night. I have just the GBR cables hooked up to av4. do I need to move one of them to the H or V or do I need another cable? Thanks for any input. My kid may have inadvertently pulled a cable out?

i have always had just the rgb cables without the h v sync cable and it worked fine in HD. I read that the h v gets put on the g cable for a green sync in some cases. does that make sense?

It has been a long time since I seen one of these, I believe that if you look in your owners manual (((What's Razz that))) that there is more than one operating mode for this AV input.

and yes, its very possible, given the proper operating mode.

The operating mode for this AV input would be in your OSD and can be accessed while you are in any any input that is active.

Hope this helps.

i have been looking at the manual it says "the HD input 4 jacks are compatible with some digital equipment having rgb outputs with "sync on green" or RGB separate H and V sync.

I will keep working at it. I have always had it hooked up with just the RGB and HD from att uverse was fine. I will try to check the input settings on the OSD to see if something got whacked Laughing Thanks and i will keep you posted Cool

After all that---the av4 only takes 1080i or 480p ---the cvi input only takes 480i--sooo--- my kid must have changed the aspect ratio to 4/3. when i changed it to 1080i --wala! perfect picture---meanwhile the dvd player was set on 480i, therefore it would not give me a good picture in av4. so the dvd player goes back to the cvi input set at 480i--wala! perfect picture. same cables, same inputs, reset settings-- solved problem. I feel a lot less crazy now--Thanks Mr. Green
