I have this tv which has a grey screen no sound or on screen display. Even the app button does not bring anything up. Any suggestions on fixing it? |

Seeing that it is only 2 - 3 years old, it may be best to take advantage of the extended service agreement you chose to purchase with the set.
Otherwise, depends on whether YOU have the aptitude, skills and training to be able to troubleshoot and fix it.
If you don't have ANY of these four, hope there is still a service center near you.
Or you can take the 'use it 'til it croaks, toss it and buy a new one' approach. |

I repaired TV's for 21 years. I have been out of it for 15 years. I still have my all my electronic test equipment. I have checked all the power supply voltages and all are good. |

Well in that case Main board would be next to rule in or out.
Since I've been unable (so far) to locate the set's SM, What are the Power & Main board part numbers since there appears to be more than one option for each http://www.shopjimmy.com/vizio/e500i-a1 |

the power board is 715g5670-p03-000-003s and the main / video board is 715g6013-m01-001-004k. I am also thinking it would be the main / video board. |

???Board part numbers off stickers as shown in SJ pictures??? Link above.( PS and 'original' Main.)
I'll need to be able to 'see' pictures of the boards if service literature cannot be had. It then is helpful if we are both describing / looking at 'the SAME' reference. When I quickly perused SJ with the number you provided I found NO Exact matches, although 3 out of the 4 were only off by a digit and/or a letter (-000- versus -001- &/or 'k' versus 'x').
What is their D.O.A. / Return window?
By ordering the board, you had already 'jumped the gun.' |
