I have a 12 volt battery charger for charging car batteries I wanted to see how much voltage it puts out without being connected to a battery with my DC digital multimeter you get a reading of 10.82 volts I thought my battery charger had quit working I put it on battery and it charges. Someone told me this is because of the high resistance in a multimeter if this is so how do you know when measuring dc voltages if they are correct? I have a VTVM this probably is better for measuring voltage not?
