It turns to blue when it's on it's side or top. Another post suggested this might be because the shadow mask in the CRT shifted. Is there any way to fix it?

I do knot know why you would put the unit on it's side or top but, it is very likely that you either have a broken shadow mask or a purity problem or a bad CRT. If it is a shadow mask you can double up your fist and using your small finger side (the soft part of your fist) and bump your crt's face fairly hard and the picture will shake if the shadow mask is broken. The only fix for a broken shadow mask is a new CRT. Sometimes you will get a color shift when changing the orientation (putting the set on its side) of the CRT as a direct result of the electromagnetic field on the shadow mask. (Manually degausing the set while it is on its side will correct the color shift if the shadow mask is intact.)

CRT could be bad causing the green image as the Zenith brand of this vintage is famous for this. Only a new CRT will correct.

If the picture is green, with retrace lines, you could have a drive problem.

Hope this helps.
