I have a shrunk screen. Power up and works fine. Just a black border all around the screen. Sound is ok. I was told I need a chip replaced. What do I need???

the screen is blurry and there is a hour glass shape to it .... edges have a virtical green/blue, orange, and red strip...

This set is 17 years old and the probability of bad CRT's (picture tubes) being bad is almost a certainty. This is most likely what is causing the blurry picture. Repairing the symptomatic failure is possible but without changing the CRT's to correct the blurry picture you are throwing good money after bad and running a convergence alignment after repairing the convergence circuits will almost be impossible with the blurry picture condition. Also, the blue CRT had a habit of leaking fluid and this may very well be the cause of the failure.
