I have this model tv and the picture is very very faint, hardly bright at all and not even visible in a sunlit room. Also, when you can see the picture, it seems the entire picture pulsates, but seems worse towards the outside of the picture. I have a fair amount of experience working on circuit board but not sure if this is something that a DIY'er can tackle or if its even worth??? |

About a thirteen-year-old set. Most TV's have trouble giving good picture in bright situations. |

So you think this one is ready for the junkyard?? The picture, albeit better, is still very difficult to see in a dark or shaded room. |

Well, if it could be repaired on the cheap and would hold up a year or two or three, even if it would be of limited use in areas with lots of light, it might be worth it.
Have you owned set from day one, or did you just inherit it from someone/somewhere? |

Actually the set is my cousins. I made the mistake of letting it be known that I succesfully installed a flyback and changed a bad capacitor out on my brothers tv and this one got plopped in my lap. He has actually owned the TV since it was new though. He is on the cheap so if you think it can be fixed that way, by all means I am all ears!! |
