I want to try to adjust the RGB as my TV has too much green in the picture that the tint control can't take out. Upon entering the service menu I am greeted with factory mode, store controls, brightness and environment. I think I want environment to try to make the changes but when entering environment I get P2,P4,N2 and N4. I can't go any further. How do I access the RGB controls with this menu? Thanks |

"Environment Menu" is for Jack Pack Configuration. (whether set is mono or stereo, etc.)
Picture Tube is showing its age.
If there are no adjustment potentiometers on the CRT neck board, then the set employs Auto Kine Bias circuits. No adjustment to perform. |

I used to service TV's about 30-35 years ago but had to give it up as all my parts suppliers around my area slowly closed up. I just learned yesterday about the service menu (didn't have that in my day) and was able to tune up (RGB adjustments, convergence etc.) a Zenith GA-3 A25A23W that my neighbor gave me as he got a flat screen and thought I could do it on my old Zenith. But there are no pots on the CRT board so I'm outta luck. I thank you for your reply. |

If you still have a CRT tester/rejuvenator, you could try that. |

I remember the "boosters" that we used to up the filament voltage to give maybe a year more of life to the CRT. The only pieces of equipment I have left are my BK digital color generator and my old trusty friend the degaussing coil. |
